NEW ROLLING MILL
The new Smart Beam Manufacturing rolling mill built in the San Zeno Naviglio (BS) plant represents a strategic investment that looks to the future: it allows the verticalization of the steel plant and equips the Group with a state-of-the-art plant for rolling steel beams in the heart of the Italian and European consumer market.
The new SBM rolling mill, for the manufacture of steel beams, has a total rolling capacity of 1.5 million tons of long products. The plant was conceived as an integrated system with the existing steel mill and well represents the concept of circular economy. It allows the complete reuse of the raw material, coming from the recovery of ferrous scrap, transforming it back into new finished products ready for use in the construction industry.

The total investment is around 200 million euros and will create 150 new job positions and many opportunities for the local satellite activities.
