Training aimed at developing new skills and strengthening existing ones is a key component in the company’s strategic planning.
To share a few figures from 2024: the hiring rate among employees under the age of 30 reached 43.5%, while approximately 55% of Duferco TP’s workforce is between 30 and 50 years old.

To further promote employee well-being, specific welfare initiatives have been introduced. Among the most relevant: financial support for nursery school fees, an extended paternity leave, double the duration required by current legislation, the availability of a company canteen, and the provision of an insurance policy covering both professional and non-work-related injuries.

In 2024, additional initiatives were launched, including agreements with nursery and kindergarten facilities, a psychological support service, a parental support desk, and partnerships with recreational centers.

EDUCATION

Empowering our people. Training people is essential for a company that wants to improve its products and processes.

In 2024, we launched the Duferco Academy: a Group-wide continuous learning program open to all employees.
The initiative includes seminars, workshops, and courses covering soft skills, customized technical training based on specific needs, language courses, digitalization programs, and webinars.

THE FOURTH EDITION OF MANAGEMENT 4 STEEL

The Steel Academy, born from the collaboration between actors in the steel sector such as Asonext, Duferco Travi e Profilati, Feralpi Group, Pittini Group and Ori Martin, aims to overcome corporate individuality to create shared paths aimed at providing transversal skills, soft skills and additional technical knowledge.

In the current industrial context, innovation is one of the most important variables for the future of steel companies. It is a challenge that can only be met by investing in training, growing the intellectual capital of the company and enabling technicians and managers to respond to a constantly changing market. Engaging people with diverse backgrounds and roles aims to create a collaborative mindset and promote networking and debate within the industry.

To date, 87 employees of the partner companies have participated, with the provision of about 6,000 hours of training in two locations: in Brescia (ISFOR Training and Research) and in Verona (Officina Pittini per la Formazione). ISFOR Training and Research and Pittini Workshop for Training are also project partners.
