The vast majority (over 96%) has a full-time contract, and of the remaining 3.4% of employees on part-time contracts. The management’s commitment to build a stable and lasting working relationship with its employees, establishing deep roots with their communities is manifested in the high number of permanent contracts, which are the 97.4% of the total workforce, confirming the marked downward trend featured in the three-year period by the number of fixed-term contracts.

The turnover rate, which tended to be low in DTP, in 2022 stood around 5%, in line with previous years, witnessing the great commitment of DTP in the relation with their employees, and it acquires even more significance when considered in light of the spread of the COVID 19 pandemic in FY20 and the related difficulties in FY21.

New hires rate is higher among the younger generation (<30 years), confirming DTP commitment in the introduction and training of new generations in the labor market.

EDUCATION

Empowering our people. Duferco people are essential to the success of the Group’s strategy. The centrality of the entire workforce is reflected in daily activities aimed at continuous development.

n the conception of the role of workers as cornerstone for the success of the DTP, continuous training aimed at developing new skills and strengthening and consolidating those already acquired are central to the planning of the companies’ activities. Functional specialization and continuous improvement for its staff at all levels are fundamental elements to achieve success in the medium-long term. Training, in addition to the activities conducted on a daily basis that allow workers to refine their skill set, is conducted both through in-person and remote courses, and through application training conducted directly in the workplace.

Blue collars are the category that has attended the most training programs (9,422 hours, about 70% of the total hours provided in the year), mainly due to the continuous updating required in terms of health and safety in the workplace.

THE SECOND EDITION OF MANAGEMENT 4 STEEL

The Steel Academy, strongly supported by ASONEXT, Duferco, Feralpi, Pittini and ORI Marting Groups, continued in 2021, after it was a success in his first edition between 2019 and 2020. A high-level training programme for talents working in companies, aimed at developing and increasing skills in the face of a stronger technological and innovative industrial scenario. The second edition was also characterized by the start of two new course: Mechanical4Steel and Leadership4Steel. From analyzing business scenarios to process planning, communication techniques, problem solving methods, “Management 4 Steel” looks openly at focusing on cooperation and cross knowledge as strong competitive advantages.
