In the fiscal year 2021, the authorization phase for the project has been concluded and entered its executive phase. The over 220-million-euro investment stands as one of the most important industrial projects in the Italian steel industry. Once fully operational, it will endow the Group with a wholly verticalized productive plant, maximizing upstream integration and the overall efficiency of the process. Fully digitalized, the rolling mill’s reheating furnace will be equipped with hydro-methane fuel-injected burners and methane, potentially allowing alternative burning fuel, such as hydrogen or bio-methane.
